Health Journey Highlights

Increased energy
Gets more sleep
Less visceral fat
Prioritizes healthy routines

As President and CEO of IncredibleBank, Todd Nagel was no stranger to the relentless pace of executive life. With offices stretching from Michigan to Florida, his days were packed with meetings, travel and long hours. “Starting early and getting home late doesn't really create a healthy lifestyle,” Todd admitted.

At 55, the toll of that lifestyle was catching up. His clothes didn’t fit like they used to, and fatigue had become a constant companion. In 2023, Todd turned to the Vitality Program at Elevé with a modest goal: lose 15 pounds and avoid buying a new wardrobe.

But what he gained went far beyond the scale. The program sparked a transformation that reshaped not just his body, but his entire approach to health, energy and longevity.

Sleep: The Secret Superpower

One of Todd’s first lessons was the power of sleep. Before Elevé, he was getting just four to five hours a night. “I never realized how lack of sleep kills you faster than anything,” he said. That realization led him to make sleep his top priority.

He adjusted his schedule to protect his rest, and the impact was immediate—better energy, improved mood and sharper decision-making. “I think I make better decisions when I sleep better,” he added.

To stay accountable, Todd began using an Oura ring to track his sleep and daily steps. “Every morning, I wake up and see how much sleep I got, how many steps I took. I monitor that every day.”

Shifting the Focus Beyond the Scale

Todd’s initial focus was weight loss. But as he progressed through the program, his goals evolved. “It’s kind of like business plans,” he explained. “You go in thinking one thing, and then you pivot.”

He realized the number on the scale didn’t tell the whole story. While his weight remained steady, he was losing inches around his waist—a sign of muscle gain and improved fitness. “That’s when I threw the scale away,” he said.

Instead of chasing a number, Todd prioritized how he felt—stronger, more energized and better rested. He built a daily routine around those goals, focusing on what he ate, when he exercised and when he slept.

Education Over Intensity

Todd admits he was nervous at first—especially about the testing. “I’m scared to death of needles,” he laughed. “The idea of giving what felt like 500 vials of blood freaked me out.”

But Elevé’s team walked him through the science. They conducted a full blood panel and a DEXA scan to measure body composition, including visceral fat—the kind that surrounds internal organs. “I didn’t even know what visceral fat was before,” Todd said.

The education was empowering. “They explained everything clearly, sat with me and never made me feel ashamed. They just educated me.” He learned that his eating habits weren’t terrible—it was the timing that needed work. “Eating a pasta dinner at 10 p.m. and going to bed right after wasn’t doing me any favors.”

Real-Life Changes Not a Life Overhaul

What Todd appreciated most was the program’s practicality. “It wasn’t some massive diet or exercise program,” he said. “It was about adapting timing, adding more protein and staying in motion.”

For someone constantly traveling, flexibility was key. Instead of hitting the gym, Todd began wearing a 15-pound vest and walking for 30 minutes. “You don’t have to be a sad, boring person who only eats vegetables,” he joked. “You can live a healthier lifestyle without completely changing your life.”

His transformation even inspired others. “I had a friend join the program with me. His health improved dramatically. I feel good knowing I helped him, too.”

Advice for Others

For Todd, the Vitality Program was more than a health initiative—it was a full reset. “It took me 50-some years to figure this out,” he said. “But now I’m committed to living longer, and I believe if I do these things, I will.”

He encourages others, especially those in their 40s, 50s, and 60s, to take the leap. “This is the best investment you can make to live longer. Period. Especially if you want to live healthy—not in a nursing home with a feeding tube.”

And through it all, Todd hasn’t slowed down. “I still run a bank, own a race team and spend time with my friends and family. I make time to have fun and feel good. That’s what a balanced life is all about.”
